Stormwater Treatment
THE NEED
OUR SOLUTION
BENEFITS
- Removes unwanted contaminants
- Improves clarity
- Repairs the natural nitrogen cycle
- Beautifies waterscapes
- Provides habitat for fish, wildlife, and water fowl
THE CHALLENGE
Many of the nation’s coastal waters, estuaries, rivers, streams, and lakes remain impaired as a result of pollution and/or physical alterations, with phosphorus and nitrogen pollution being just one of the problems.
The EPA reports that 55% of the nation's rivers and streams do not support healthy populations of aquatic life.
Improving Stormwater Naturally
Our low cost, customizable Floating Treatment Wetland (FTW) system meets this need. With a strong background based on science and independent research, the FTW system improves stormwater naturally, while also improving habitats and aesthetic value.
Chesapeake Best Management Practice Recognition
In June of 2016, the Chesapeake Stormwater Network and Chesapeake Research Consortium officially recognized Floating Treatment Wetlands as a Best Management Practice for stormwater wet ponds and wastewater lagoon retrofits for the states of Delaware, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. The FTW can be installed into existing ponds to earn Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Nitrogen (TN), and Total Phosphorus (TP) credits.
